DIY Hair Masks

Since I dye my hair and style it my hair can get super brittle and dry, especially in the winter! Over the past few months I've tried out a number of at home hair masks and found my favourite 3.

#1. Coconut Oil & Olive Oil

What you need:
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp olive oil
shower cap/ plastic wrap

1. Melt the coconut oil in a bowl
2. Mix in the olive oil
3. Put it in your hair and wrap it with a shower cap or plastic wrap
4. Let sit for 30-60 minutes
5. Wash out with shampoo and conditioner

#2 Banana & Honey

What you need:
1 banana
1 tbsp honey
shower cap/ plastic wrap

1. Mash the banana and mix in honey
2. Apply to hair and wrap with plastic wrap or shower cap
3. Let sit for 30-60 minutes and wash out with shampoo and conditioner

#3 Avocado, Coconut Oil and Honey

1/2 an avocado
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp coconut oil

Winter Beauty Essentials

The weather outside is quickly changing and with new seasons comes new beauty products! Above, I chose a few products that I think are essential for getting through a cold winter season.

1. Body Lotion- Cold weather brings dry skin. Lotion is definitely a staple I will always have in my bag to keep my skin soft all winter long.

2. Lip Balm- Don't neglect your lips! They can also get very dry. Right now I am OBSESSED with EOS balms (vanilla bean is my favourite!). I highly recommend getting one if you didn't already (p.s they're all natural)

3. Warm Fuzzy Socks- I don't know if this is just me but my feet are literally always freezing during winter, no matter what shoes I wear. So fuzzy socks are a definite staple for me this season.

4. Moroccan/ Macadamia Oil- I'm not a fan of frizzy hair, especially in the winter. Moroccan or macadamia oil can help prevent that. Apply a little bit to your hair when you get out of the shower and voila, frizz free hair =).

5. Cuticle Oil- Cuticles are often neglected but they too can get very dry. Apply a little bit before you go to bed to keep your cuticles from drying out. (If you don't have cuticle oil, olive oil will also do the trick!)

6. Candles- Because who doesn't love Christmas scented candles?!

7. Mittens- To avoid drying out hands when your out in the cold!

8. Lip exfoliator- Applying a lip exfoliator will get rid of the dead skin on your lips and make them even softer! Apply this along with a lip balm to get super soft lips this season.

9.  Face Cream- Last but not least, a good face cream! Your face is probably the most exposed to the cold making it the first to become dry (A dry face is painful, trust me!!). To avoid having dry, cracked skin apply a face cream before bed or in the morning (or both)!

Happy Winter!

Winter Polish Faves

1. Essie- devils advocate
2. Essie- midnight cami
3. Essie- over the edge
4. Essie- no place like chrome

With winter quickly approaching I decided to choose a few of my all time favourite colours to wear during the season. As you can tell I am a huge fan of Essie so expect some more nail posts featuring them. Ok, so lets begin! I love love love dark purples, if i could I would wear this colour all year round. However, since there are very few seasons wearing a dark purple polish is acceptable I will definitely make sure I get my use of this colour. Next up, navy (I know, i know, the photo above is more of a metallic blue) but navy polishes are perfect for winter! When I paint my nails navy I usually add white or silver glitter to a few nails to jazz the look up a little bit. Charcoal is also super in for winter! If your bored of painting your nails black I would definitely opt for this colour to give your nails a little twist. Now, enough of all those dark colours silver is a perfect festive colour to paint your nails this season. If silver is a little bold for your liking you can always use it as an accent nail and still get the same effect!

What are you wearing on your nails this winter?
