Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Christmas is right around the corner, so I thought I would share a few of my favourite stocking stuffers!

1. Lip balms- A girl can never have too many lip balms, especially during this cold cold winter! A few of my favourite are EOS, Burt's Bees , Sugar by Fresh, and Kiehl's.

2. Nail Polishes- Essie nail polishes are another one of my favourite stocking stuffers. They're super affordable, long lasting, and come in every colour imaginable!

3. Hair Accessories- Hair ties and bobby pins are an essential in EVERY girls makeup bag and if you're anything like me you lose them like crazy!

4. Cozy Socks- Socks have to be my favourite stocking stuffer because my feet are always soooooo cold. You can never go wrong with a pair of wool or fuzzy socks from your local Wal-Mart, Roots (if you live in Canada, or even Bath & Body Works!

Merry Christmas!

My Winter Staples

Since fall is sadly coming to an end I chose a few of my winter staples to help get you ready for winter!

1. Scarves (pictured: aritzia)- Big scarves are an absolute must during the winter season. They're super comfy and warm and look cute with almost anything!

2. Basic tee's (pictured: topshop)- Black and white tee's are my go to outfit when i have absolutely no idea what to wear. They're super easy to layer and make for a perfect outfit when you're in a rush!

3. Peacoat (pictured: aritzia)- Sometimes my big fluffy winter coat does not cut it when I'm going out to dinner or out with friends which is why i opt for a peacoat. Believe it or not peacoats are warmer than they look, especially the one from aritzia in the picture above.

4. Leather pants (pictured: club monaco)- If you've read any of my other blog posts I constantly go on and on about leather pants/ leggings and trust me they are so worth it! They're very versatile, comfy and warm.

5. Boots (pictured: frye)- A girl can never have to many boots in her closet! There are so many different types of boots out there that will suit your style and keep your feet warm all winter long.

6. Knit headband (pictured: aldo)- Lately, I've been loving knit headbands because they're adorable and keep your ears warm. They are sold at almost any store and come in a variety of colours (my favourites are burgundy, grey and black)

Those are my 6 staples for this winter, what are yours?

Love or Hate: The Skinny Sweats

Outfit #1 (to school)
Sweats: Rag & Bone
Shoes: Sam Edelmen 'circus'
Jacket: All Saints
Shirt: Top Shop
Beanie: Top Shop
Bag: Zara

Outfit #2 (to work)
Sweats: J Crew
Shoes: Bianca Martino
Blazer: Michael Kors
Bag: Zara
Necklace: Topshop

A trend I've been seeing lately is the 'sweatpants chic' trend. Sweats are being worn with heels, boots, blazers... basically anything you would wear with jeans. I'm not going to lie I kind of like this trend. I mean who wouldn't want to wear sweatpants out? However, that doesn't mean all sweatpants are now acceptable, they have to be the right ones....the skinny sweat. Above I chose 2 different outfits that I would wear with sweats. The first one is more of a casual everyday look with a beanie and chunky heels. The second one is a going out for dinner or lunch look or even to work if you are that daring! So many celebrities and fashion icons are following this trend but what do you think? Should sweatpants only be worn to.... sweat in?

Winter Beauty Essentials

The weather outside is quickly changing and with new seasons comes new beauty products! Above, I chose a few products that I think are essential for getting through a cold winter season.

1. Body Lotion- Cold weather brings dry skin. Lotion is definitely a staple I will always have in my bag to keep my skin soft all winter long.

2. Lip Balm- Don't neglect your lips! They can also get very dry. Right now I am OBSESSED with EOS balms (vanilla bean is my favourite!). I highly recommend getting one if you didn't already (p.s they're all natural)

3. Warm Fuzzy Socks- I don't know if this is just me but my feet are literally always freezing during winter, no matter what shoes I wear. So fuzzy socks are a definite staple for me this season.

4. Moroccan/ Macadamia Oil- I'm not a fan of frizzy hair, especially in the winter. Moroccan or macadamia oil can help prevent that. Apply a little bit to your hair when you get out of the shower and voila, frizz free hair =).

5. Cuticle Oil- Cuticles are often neglected but they too can get very dry. Apply a little bit before you go to bed to keep your cuticles from drying out. (If you don't have cuticle oil, olive oil will also do the trick!)

6. Candles- Because who doesn't love Christmas scented candles?!

7. Mittens- To avoid drying out hands when your out in the cold!

8. Lip exfoliator- Applying a lip exfoliator will get rid of the dead skin on your lips and make them even softer! Apply this along with a lip balm to get super soft lips this season.

9.  Face Cream- Last but not least, a good face cream! Your face is probably the most exposed to the cold making it the first to become dry (A dry face is painful, trust me!!). To avoid having dry, cracked skin apply a face cream before bed or in the morning (or both)!

Happy Winter!
